STUDENTS UNION
DSSW is one of the few postgraduate institutions in University of Delhi to have its own Student's Union. Elected annually by direct ballots , the Union is an embodiment of democratic spirit in academic space as enshrined in the vision of DSSW. The Union strives to enrich the student life in campus by organizing activities of rich learning and engagement. Apart from student GBMs and get together parties , the major programmes organised by the Union includes Dr. Selvam Memorial Annual Debate , Sports Day and Agency Meet.

HOUSING
DSSW has its own Hostel, the hostel has made endeavour to enrich the lives of the residents with emphasis on the values of acceptance and equality and help the students strive for a tolerant and accommodative society. The hostel is distinctive on the campus because, it makes provision for the stay of both men and women residents pursuing M. A., M. Phil., and PhD in Social Work. Dr Avinash Kumar, Assistant Professor,Department of Applied Psychology, University of Delhi is the warden.There are 51 single rooms in which we have accommodated 62 students.
DSSW Hostel developed its own interactive website http://dswh.du.ac.in and facilitates online admission application. Some other facilities/services provided to residents are: Internet connections, reading tables, sofa sets, digital clocks, vacuum cleaner, visitor’s room etc. The hostel authorities have introduced many innovative and creative initiatives to improve the residents academic pursits and strengthen the authorities and residents relationship. The life here provides the residents immense opportunities for interaction and healthy cosmopolitan development.
Hostel club organizes various festivals/ programmes in the hostel, such as: Diwali, Christmas,Holi and Lohri, with traditional enthusiasm and vigor. Every year, the student who secures the highest marks in MA (Previous) among the hostellers is awarded the Medha Trophy.

The library is engaged in the collection, processing and dissemination of information relating to social sciences especially in the field of social work and allied subjects. The Department’s library till date added 248 books, reports and other publications during the period under review, taking the total number of books to 30,027. The library is subscribing to 36 national and international periodicals and another 15 are received as gift or on an exchange basis.
The library is extensively used by the staff and students of the Department as well as bonafide research scholars from other institutions. The library has maintained usual services like book issuing, bibliographic references, inter-library loan and selective photocoping services.
